The River Dart rises high in Dartmoor and, after making its way through the southern part of the county of Devon, it flows into the English Channel at Dartmouth. Large parts of the river are affected by ebb and flow, so that even Totnes, which is quite a bit inland, has a considerable tide. There are boat trips between Dartmouth and Totnes which have a journey time of just under 1.5 hours in each direction and are sometimes served by a historic paddle steamer.

Join us on a journey through beautiful Southern England, past Agatha Christie’s country estate as well as many other places!

Totnes is also a town for water sports – albeit very dependent on the tides.
