Trebah Garden is one of those Cornish gardens with a special microclimate and is located in a small valley towards the sea.
TREBAH Garden is at the mouth of the Helford River and is only about eight kilometres from Falmouth. (Cornwall) It is a so-called “gorge garden”, which lies as a cut between the steep hills and extends downhill to the delta of the Helford River. A stream flows through the garden with a pond and the approximately 11-hectare garden has mostly subtropical vegetation. Particularly in May and June Trebah Garden radiates in all colours of the intensely flowering rhododendrons.
When you visit the garden today, you can’t believe that it was completely overgrown for a long time and was only restored by Tony and Eira Hibbert after intensive work from 1981 onwards. The garden is now owned by a trust set up especially to secure it for posterity.
